Dr. Prenni has extensive experience (11 years) in the identification and characterization of biological molecules by mass spectrometry. During her post-doctoral appointment in the Mass Spectrometry Facility at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA she focused on the evaluation and optimization of a new ionization technique involving matrix-free desorption on silicon. During her time at CSU she has been responsible for the establishment of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility and has worked to promote the use of shared resources and expertise for the CSU research community.
In addition to her role at CSU, she participates as an instructor in a very successful hands-on Proteomics and Metabolomics training program through National Jewish Health in Denver, CO (http://www.metabolomicstraining.org/). She is also co-founder and president elect of the Colorado Biological Mass Spectrometry Society (www.cbmss.org).
