Education and Training

B.S. Environmental Science (Chemistry minor), 1998, Quincy University,  Quincy, IL
M.S. Entomology, 2002, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA
Ph.D., Cell and Molecular Biology, 2008, Colorado State University, Ft Collins CO

Background

Corey received a B.S. in Environmental Science from Quincy University, a M.S. in entomology, and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology.  In addition, he held a position at USDA-ARS in Beltsville, MD and was employed as a research associate at the Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  The tie that binds all his disparate research projects and positions is analytical chemistry.  This background provides the experience necessary to serve as the Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility Laboratory Manager.  His primary responsibilities include operation of the GC-MS and two UPLC-MS systems dedicated to small molecular analysis and metabolomics, analysis of metabolomics datasets, and consultation on proposed metabolomics projects.
